Beaver Dam, watercolour 15"x 22". Sold.

This Beaver Dam was on the Whitemud Creek a short walk in from the parking lot at Rainbow Valley bridge in Edmonton.I watched as the beavers built it during the summers and raised their young, swam and played around. Every now and again  work crews would open up the creek by removing these dams to allow the water to flow through. Then the cycle would begin again. I love this creek in winter...it freezes with a warm cobalt bluish colour around the edges and you can see how the water flowed as it froze in mid stream so that the surface of the creek was lumpy.
